Notes re: Revised Local Rules Document

*      Update Union/Company Contacts and Union Meeting Info

*      Changes to the claim info page

*      Revision to definition – Add reference to General Change of assignment with regard to effective time of Wayfreight A.

*      Revision to short trip rule requiring employees to advise the CMC/Crew Dispatcher they are claiming a short tirp/no short within an hour of completion of their tour of duty.

*      Article 3.3 – Revise the local understanding that permits an Engineer/Conductor to hold their turn in their constituent pool when forced to a different pool to fill an ad hoc vacancy and require that the employee ensure proper board placement within an hour of completion of the tour of duty.

*      Revise local rule 6.1 requiring all employees except yard service employees to provide 10 days notice to bid off an assignment.

*      Local Rule 8.1 add exception to Unassigned work train service regarding track analyzer car.

*      Local Rule 8.5 add information that WM claim code to be used for topping up miles to local fixed rate agreement.

*      Revise Unassigned work rules to allow up to unassigned employees to work 5 (five) consecutive days on an unassigned work train.

*      Revise 9.3 change to include onus is on the individual to provide copies of their bid in the event it is challenged.

*      Revise 9.7 to reflect that bid cards will be accepted for the week including the week of change of card to reflect requirements regarding temporary vacancies.

*      Revise 9.10 to reflect that new positions and positions “that become permanently vacant” changes will occur “when practicable” in conjunction with the weekly crew change.

*      Revise 9.15 to reflect that A Running Trade Employee passing up a position/assignment either permanent or a "Weekly Placement" vacancy which results in a junior employee working that position/assignment may not later claim that position/assignment unless reduced to the Spareboard and subsequently being setup, or until the next general change of assignments, or if the job becomes vacant.

 

*      Revise 9.20 by adding; A Running Trade Employee passing up a position/assignment either permanent or a "Weekly Placement" vacancy which results in a junior employee working that position/assignment may not later claim that position/assignment unless reduced to the Spareboard and subsequently being setup, or until the next general change of assignments, or if the job becomes vacant.

*      Revise 10.4 regarding local chairman holding/placing their turn to attend to union business; A Running Trade Employee passing up a position/assignment either permanent or a "Weekly Placement" vacancy which results in a junior employee working that position/assignment may not later claim that position/assignment unless reduced to the Spareboard and subsequently being setup, or until the next general change of assignments, or if the job becomes vacant.

 

*       Revise 10.8 to regarding employees holding their turn to attend an investigation;   An employee scheduled for an investigation will be allowed to hold their turn on Company Business to attend the investigation subject to mutual agreement of the parties. Employees returning from such leave must book on by 17:00 and must book a minimum of 5 hours rest to a maximum of 12 hours.

 

*      Add 10.9 regarding employees holding their turn to attend medical specialist appointments; An employee required to attend a company medical or medical specialist appointment will be permitted to extend rest to 17:00 the day of the appointment. Such rest must be arranged by the employee so requesting and must be mutually extended in advance by both the company and the union.

*      Revise 11.5 regarding ESB’s, yard engineers not being available for spare work when presented for a call to be held off at least 12 hours.

*      11.7 revised to read that employees returning from miles or AV must request rest by 20:00h

*      Revise 14.4 removing spring break from definition of prime time with respect to the awarding of AV vacancies.

*      Revise 15.1 that the DB claim code to be used for assisting rather than the CK claim code.

*      Revise 15.4 to read 3 miles
